Palace is the most completely integrated example of Indo-Saracenic

Swinton Jacob's creations. The palace has played host to a number of
dignitaries from all over the world.
Bikaner
This desert town in the northwest of Rajasthan was founded in 1488 by
Rao Bika, a descendant of Rao Jodha of Jodhpur. The old city is
surrounded by a high crenellated wall. In the olden days, the city old
Bikaner figured prominently on the great caravan trade routes. Today, it
is a lively and colourful city reminiscent of the days of yore. A number
of festivals like teej and holi are celebrated in the city, in much the
same way as they had been for centuries.
