Day - 01
Departure from home country.
Day - 02
Arrival Mumbai (Bombay). Transfer to hotel. Afternoon city tour
visiting Kamla Nehru Park and Hanging Gardens situated on the
slopes of Malabar Hill, offering a panoramic view of Marine
Drive , Chowpatty Beach, Prince of Wales Museum, Mani bhawan,
Dhobi Ghat, Gateway of India and drive through the Crawford
market, Marine Drive & Flora Fountain .
Day - 03
Transfer to airport for Aurangabad flight. Arrive Aurangabad and
transfer to hotel.
Day - 04
Full day tour of Ajanta Caves . The Caves date back to the 2nd
century B.C. The 30 rock caves are adorned with Buddhist
sculpture and frescoes. The most remarkable among them is the
Kailash Temple , meant to be a replica of Lord Shiva's celestial
abode. Kailash is the best example of rock cut architecture and
an engineering marvel.
Day - 05
Morning tour of Ellora Caves (29 kms) which encompass 34 rock
cut shrines representing Buddhist, Hindu & Jain art dating from
the 4th to 9th century A.D. Check-out at 1200 hrs and transfer
to railway station for Hyderabad night train.
Day - 06
Morning arrive Hyderabad & transfer to hotel. Later city tour
visiting Char Minar, Salarjung Museum and walking by the bazzars.
Day - 07
Day at leisure or optional tour of Golconda & nearby places.
Golconda, once famed for its diamond mines (from which the
famous Kohinoor Diamond of the British Crown was mined) is the
site of a strategic fort dating back to the 13th century. This
invincible fort has an extraordinary acoustical system & massive
battlements.
Day - 08
Morning transfer to airport for Madras flight. Arrive & transfer
to hotel. Afternoon - visit the Museum , to see the Art and
Bronze Gallery (closed on friday and public holidays). Drive
through the flower and fruit market, High Court Fort Museum,
Marina Beach, Santhome Cathedral and Snake Park.
Day - 09
Full day tour of Mahabalipuram and Kanchipuram . Kanchipuram was
the golden city and one of the seven sacred cities of India and
once had 1000 temples. Now only 200 remain. It is also famed for
its hand woven cottons & Kanjivaram silk. Mahabalipuram was the
the main port of the Pallava Dynasty and has exquisite rockcut
monuments, monolithic structures and base reliefs. It is also a
good beach resort.
Day - 10
Morning transfer to railway station for Mysore train. Meeting
and assistance on arrival and transfer to hotel.
Day-11
Full day excursion of Belur and Halebid. The Chenna Kesava
Temple of Belur built 900 yrs ago is an exquisite example of
Hoysala art. Halebid's 12th century Hoysaleswara & Kedareswara
temple are masterpieces of Hindu art. On the return to Mysore,
visit Sravanbelgola the 1000 year old colossus 17-mtr high
monolithic statue of Gomteshwara the famous Jain saint, attracts
pilgrims from all over India, especially during festival times.
Day - 12
Morning tour of Mysore. Visit the Maharaja Palace, the Art
Gallery and drive up to Chamundi Hill to see the Chamundeshwari
Temple and a panoramic view of Mysore. On the way back see the
Nandi Bull .
Day - 13
Morning proceed to Bangalore by road. Transfer to hotel.
Day - 14
Morning transfer to airport for Bombay flight. Arrive and
transfer to hotel. Afternoon at leisure.
Day - 15
Morning transfer to airport for return flight.
