The
royal castle at kanota was built in the 18th century by Thakur Zorawar
Singh champawat. Located 14 kms from Jaipur, this medieval age castle is
built as the last defence for the city of Jaipur and is well equipped
with cannons and a well stocked armory. The fort also has a unique
library, with gold work on the walls and a collection of over 10,000
rare books, manuscripts and miniatures. A special attraction in the
castle is its museum which houses old arms saddlery and buggies for
horses, camels and elephants. The castle is surrounded by beautiful
gardens and a fruit orchard. Billiarsds, puppet shows and excursions are
the events that can be arranged on request.
